App Store Optimisation, app marketing and localisation

Drive organic traffic and increase the number of downloads with a great app store description. Work with us to create a name, description and meta data to top the app rank.

How to optimise your application?

More than a half of all users find apps through the app store’s search function. This is why a great title, a wonderfully written description and just the right keywords are crucial.

  • Title – The app’s name is vital and the title is as important as your website’s < title > tag. It is strongly advised to include a keyword but, as usual, don’t stuff the keywords in the title.
  • Description – A great description can do wonders for your app. The description preview - the text that is read within the first 10 second should include your app’s unique selling point, convey why the user needs you app and how they will benefit from downloading your product. The remaining part of the description should be used to further convince the reader to become a user.
  • Keywords – They are, of course, the key element of this whole optimisation endeavour. They require quite a lot of research. It is important to analyse them and update as often as needed.
  • App preview – The visual elements are equally important. You can either upload a few screenshots straight from your application or prepare a set of creative graphics to present your product.
  • Updates – This is another great field that can help you market your app. Tell your existing and new users how you app has been improved and how much of a great experience it is now.

Localise your app for app stores.

Apart from localising the app itself – something we’ve written about previously (1, 2), the texts used for optimisation purposes also need to be localised.

  • Title – There are a few approaches. You can either leave the name without translating it into Polish at all, you can fully localise the name of the app and the title or leave the name in English and translate the rest of the title. If your name is a clever play on words, you can trust us to come up with something equally clever.
  • Description – The text should be transcreated to appeal to the Polish audience.
  • Keywords – as they are crucial it is important to have professionals research and localise them.
  • App preview – When you choose to upload app screenshots it is important to include these from the already localised app. If you chose to add specially designed graphics all text should also be localised.
  • Updates – Let your Polish users know you care about them by always keeping them updated.

Optimisation is a complex process, which requires constant analysis and updates. If you want to see how your app performs under a different name, with a few more keywords or you wish to change the description – we’re here for you. Send us the texts and we’ll get back to you with a high-quality translation and a few suggestions if you desire.

Want to localise your app into Polish? Just send us the strings. If you wish to optimise your app for the Polish market send us the English texts or, if you wish, we will create them in Polish from scratch.

IA, UI, UX and translation services – cooperation with a localisation team

Adapting your application for different languages may start on the information architecture level, be a part of the UX design or may appear later, as an UI translation.

IA, UX, UI… App development and localisation processes

The internationalisation process, especially when we talk about the user-centred design, is best implemented in the early stages – it allows to shorten the time needed for rewriting code (we all know how frustrating and money/time consuming it may be) and it offers you the big picture of how your app is being developed. So when to start the localisation and translation process of your app?

  • Information architecture (IA). The point is to design the information flow and access, right? So how does localisation fit in there? Well, it depends on the idea of your app, its usability and a few other factors. For different countries sometimes different approaches are necessary, especially if you want to share diversified content on each market. In this phase language specialists may check if there are crucial differences that may impact the structure with further localisation steps. It will save your time on further steps.
  • User experience (UX). This is where users’ habits, needs and expectations are. Also, how the app and the texts inside it will be used by foreign users. Language specialists will help you in preparing consistent terminology, writing great, also marketing, texts, they will advise when localisation may demand some additional preparation (for example different numeric or calendar systems).
  • User interface (UI). When your app is ready to be released in English, it is ready for localisation. Just send strings and context that will tell translators “what does this button do”, in an xml file, and send it to your chosen language vendor. Be ready for an increased flow of new users.
